What is a ‘TeslaTaxi.com.au car sitter’?
In QLD we have several owners with ‘small fleets’ (more cars than they need for the family, but less than 20x cars per owner) - the owners take rentals from our web-site and from TURO, however in ‘off-peak’ seasons they may have 3~4x cars ‘sitting around’ for part of the week and they need a ‘car sitter’ (a person to look after the car between rentals, this person also gets to use the car on non-rented days for work and personal use).
Here in QLD in Q3-2023 we are looking for several 'car sitters' RIGHT NOW!
[we will also look at applications in NSW and VIC but limited cars that ‘need sitters’ in NSW/VIC at this time]
How it works:
You must be based not more than 35km from BNE Domestic Airport - in an average month you may need to deliver the car to the airport and pay the $20 cost for a 24hr 'parking window' to deliver the car for a Turo rental that elects 'airport' connection.
More info/what is expected: ‘Cleaning’
you will need to clean the car not less than once per 10-days and a quick vacuum - our car-sitters normally set aside 45-min to do this at a public car wash - out of pocket cost from $15 per clean and 20-min vacuum session at Hoppy’s locations in SE-QLD
Pricing [What a car sitter needs to pay to use the car on non-rented days]:
In a month where the car is rented 15-days and you use the car 15-days you would pay under $29 per day on the days you have the car.
More info on: “Charging and Garaging”
Our car sitters pay $4 per 100km for power at home, in general a 100~200km ‘top up’ is required between rentals.
The ‘home garage’ will not need to be a lock up location, just off-street parking in your yard not more than 20M from the house (so you can run a 15a extension lead) out to the car.
Pricing/costs breakdown:
you 'earn' a $50 'credit' each time you deliver the car to the airport and you 'earn' $55 per day that the car is rented, you pay $45 per day [max cost per month 30x$45 = $1350] and you only pay the net difference from your ‘earnings’ to the total use you have of the car.
for example, you deliver the car to the airport twice in a month, for 7-day bookings each time - so, the total you pay is 30x $45 = $1350 for the month less 14x $55 and 2x $50 = net cost to you for the 16-days that you have use of the car would be $480 or 'net' $30 per day of use.
